After School Club Play Worker Job Description
Homerton Early Years Centre offers extended sessions for their children on roll known as Owlets. The provision will be the responsibility of the Governing Body and the Head Teacher with the Manager supervising the administration and operation of Owlets. Duties
• Responsible to the Governing Body, Head Teacher and Childcare Manager.
• To carry out all duties in accordance with the principles and policies established throughout the nursery in sessions
• To establish a safe, secure, and stimulating environment at all times
• To be responsive to the changing needs of children outside the usual pattern of the nursery day
• To ensure open and smooth lines of communication between parents/carers, Owlets staff and Nursery Staff in all matters and in particular in reporting concerns, messages re physical and emotional well-being of the children
• To be responsible for assisting to open and prepare the nursery for the evening Owlets and tidying after the session.
• Preparing a tea ready for children when they arrive.
• To be aware of issues of Child Protection and safeguarding, and act in accordance with Cambridgeshire County Council guidelines when appropriate
• To be aware of Health and Safety regulations for all on site
• To be aware of hygiene regulations for children’s meals and snacks, recognising the principles of a balanced diet and the requirements of varied and ethnic backgrounds
• To assist in ensuring the safety of all children at the Club in the event of a fire/drill or other emergency
• To administer or supervise any first aid as required and appropriate, and record al accidents/incidents
• To provide equal opportunities in all aspects of the work and abide by agreed policies
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the line management.

• Give all learners equal chance to learn and provide learners with the support they need to fulfil their potential.
