Approved Mental Health Professional - Part-Time Considered

About the role

Are you a registered Social Worker, Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist who has also completed Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Training?

Cambridgeshire County Council’s Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) service has a fantastic opportunity for a full time qualified professional who holds a qualification as an AMHP.

The successful candidate will work across both the Cambridge and Huntingdon/Fenland AMHP duty rota 5 days per week.  The Cambridge AMHP Office is based at Fulbourn Hospital and the Huntingdon/Fenland AMHP office is based at the Newtown Centre in Huntingdon. The expectation is that you would work equally between the two sites however this is dependent on service requirements.

The post is for the daytime AMHP service. The basic working hours are 9-5pm, but the AMHP’s need to be able to work until assessments are completed which can be later than 5pm.

Overtime is paid as well as an AMHP allowance of £2781.96 per year.

About you

Candidates need to be dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate; you’ll bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill base to the challenge of working as part of the AMHP team.

Your existing skills will enable you to support and develop others as well as being a role model for good practice, ensuring the very best outcomes for the people of Cambridgeshire.

Candidates must hold a degree level qualification including a certified and current qualifications in a registered profession as per the Mental Health (Approved Mental Health Professionals) (Approval) (England) Regulations 2008; with evidence of post qualifying experience and continued professional development.  In addition you must have an Adult Mental Health Professional qualification.
