Arts Business Administrator

About the role

You will be providing friendly, efficient, customer-facing, front-line public services to clients and partners of Cambridgeshire Music within our Business Team. You will need to be able to work on occasion on evenings at some weekends, as required to meet service needs. You will be supported and supervised and have responsibility for managing stock and equipment as required. Our customer services include reception, digital systems support, information provision and face to face transactions with service users. Alongside this you will help our service run well by completing a range of administration tasks.

Within the day to day running of our Histon Music and Cultural Education Centre, activities can include helping set up spaces, library and instrument loan and general building operation and assisting in the delivery of events.

This post is offered initially on a 12 months fixed term basis and conversion to a permanent role will be considered during the contract period.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

Our Arts Business Administrators are a vital part of our administrative support working with our staff, settings, and partners, within a dynamic and customer focused team.

You will be:

  • Providing knowledgeable administrative support to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Communicating with a range of internal and external customers by telephone and email.
  • Preparing equipment and ensuring appropriate stock levels.
  • Ensuring tasks dealt with in a concise and timely manner.
  • Ensuring information is accurately typed, recorded and systems updated.
  • Personal administration.
  • Preparing reactive financial processes

A can-do, flexible attitude goes a long way with us, especially when accompanied by a smile. This is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of the Music Education sector whilst working in a dynamic environment.

You will have:

  • Developing IT skills, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to work in databases.
  • An organised and flexible approach to work, to enable you to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
  • Administration skills enabling you to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, providing the ability to represent the service in a positive and professional manner.
  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality, sensitivity of information and GDPR.
