About the role

Please note:

  • The basic annual salary advertised of £17,493 to £17,812 will be uplifted by £9,213 to £9,386 with guaranteed hourly enhancements. This will bring the total to £26,706 to £27,198. 
  • The annual salary advertised does not include the 2023 pay award.
  • This post is for 30 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen at London Road, Harston, Cambridge as a Night Support Worker.

London Road is an 4 bedded Long Term and Shared Care home for Children and Young People aged 8 to 18 who have a learning or physical disability and or additional health or behavioural needs.

How will you make a difference to the lives of Children and Young People:

· By promoting a healthy sleeping pattern for the Children and Young People.

· Promoting a safe environment, where Young People can thrive and try out new experiences and have fun.

· Advocating on behalf of the Children and Young People.

· Being part of the staff team who provide support for Young People during their stay, supporting in all aspects of their care.

· Supporting Young People to achieve positive outcomes.

· Ability to plan and organise your day.

· An understanding of technology such as Tablet Computers, Games Consoles etc which Young People use to aid their communication or express their needs.

· The ability to communicate appropriately with Children, Young People, their Families and to colleagues within the Home and the wider Council and to external agencies (such as Social Workers, Teachers etc).

· Recording observations and undertake administrative processes as needed.

· By having basic knowledge of IT packages such as Word, Excel & Outlook.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cambridge, CB22 7QH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving License (preferred)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)

Shift availability:

  • Night shift (9.30 pm to 7.30 am)

Work Location: In person
