Business Intelligence Analyst - Supporting Families

About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council’s Business Intelligence team provides data, analysis, and insight to support the operational management and strategic planning of services. 

The demand for data and insight has never been greater!  With budgets of millions of pounds that impact on thousands of vulnerable people every year, services rely upon the analysis, information and advice provided by our team to make key decisions – so you’ll really have a chance to make a difference.

We are a hybrid working team, working flexibly from home, our main office in Papworth and Council offices located around the county.  Our technology platform supports remote working and flexible working patterns.

What will you be doing?

Working as part of a team led by a Senior Analyst, this role supports the Council’s Supporting Families Service through the provision of data, insight, and analysis. 

Key duties include:

  • Dashboard creation using Business Objects and Power BI
  • Extraction, manipulation and matching of data from multiple data sources
  • Development of automated data matching tools
  • Supporting the Supporting Families Service with key data used in the submission of quarterly funding claims
  • Data provision in support of Ofsted inspections
  • National and regional benchmarking
  • Annual statutory data return compilation and submission
  • Data analysis to support FOI requests
  • Ad hoc data provision and analysis to a range of related stakeholders

About you

Are you ambitious, innovative, good with data and passionate about good quality public services? If so, we may have the role you’ve been searching for!

We are after people with strong technical skills and who enjoy extracting and exploring data and have proven analytical and presentation skills. 

Successful applicants will be well supported to further develop their subject knowledge and technical skillset to complete complex analysis using Excel, Power BI and other data manipulation tools.

Interviews will be conducted virtually on the 8th and 9th December.  Candidates will need access to a PC / Laptop with excel installed (preferably 2016) and a webcam to support video interviews.
