What will you be doing?

The Fostering Service requires a full time Business Officer to support the statutory responsibilities that sit within the service such as supporting the Recruitment and Assessment of Foster Carers and supporting the Supervision and Support area of Fostering.  

The role is responsible for conducting Recruitment and Assessment checks of prospective Foster Carers and supporting with the review process of approved Foster Carers. This includes collating supporting documents/evidence, requesting & collating references and review paperwork, requesting & collating medical checks, completing DBS checks, sending out information packs and updating the recording system. As part of this, the role is responsible for paying invoices relating to recruitment checks. You may also be required on occasions to support the Foster Panel process.

About you

You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, as this is a varied role and will include the collation of reference checks which form part of the social workers assessments required for court. You will need good administration skills and the ability to prioritise as this is a fast paced role with short statutory deadlines.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases.
