Business Officer (LADO)

About the role

The Quality Assurance and Practice Improvement (QAPI) Service require 1 full time (37 hours) Business Officer to support the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) team.

Your role will be supporting the work of the LADO’s, who are a team within Children's Social Care and are responsible for overseeing the process for responding to allegations against people who work with children and young people up to the age of 18.

What will you be doing?

This role will include the convening, minuting and administration of the Allegation Management Meetings (AMM’s), managing a team inbox and completing relevant checks on our internal systems for MAPPA meetings and prison notifications.

You will need to have the ability to summarise and produce information in a concise manner. Minutes are recorded on a template and full training and support will be given in order to complete this task. 

You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, as this is a varied role and will also include the processing of papers and reports in preparation for these meetings and the distribution of paperwork.

You will need good administration skills and the ability to prioritise as this is a fast paced role with short statutory deadlines. Along with diary management, you will need excellent customer service and communication skills as you will be liaising with external agencies such as the Police and Schools.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases.
