About the role
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented individual to join the Statutory Assessment Finance Team. The team provides financial support to the Statutory Assessment Service, which is responsible for the assessment, monitoring and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The team manages High Needs Block funding, including EHCP top-up funding and other financial support specified within EHCPs. As part of this role, you will help ensure the accurate administration, monitoring and reporting of funding commitments and budgets that support children and young people across the county.
The role involves inputting data into computer systems, dealing with computer documents, answering queries, and supporting colleagues with tasks such as collating data and producing reports.

What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate budget commitment records using Excel and other financial systems.
- Processing and administering High Needs Block funding payments.
- Reconciling monthly budget reports within ERP Gold and ensuring general ledger information is accurate and up to date.
- Supporting the production of monthly financial reports for finance business partners and senior management.
- Inputting, maintaining and validating financial and service data across a range of computer systems.
- Answering enquiries, taking messages and directing queries appropriately.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible, with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and forward plan. You will have excellent interpersonal skills combined with the ability to represent the service in a positive and professional manner, including communicating with a wide range of internal and external customers.
You must be reliable, have a polite manner and a friendly approach to help you get on with people at all levels. You must be keen to learn and work to agreed targets. You will need to be a good team worker but also have the ability to work on your own initiative when required and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to take a hands-on role and work independently. The successful candidate will also have proven experience & understanding of working with GDPR regulations.
