About the role

South Cambs Child & Family Centres has a vacancy for a part time permanent position (18.5 hours) family worker based in one of our 5 Child & Family Centres/Zones (Cambourne, Melbourn, Sawston, Waterbeach, Northstowe).

The Child & Family Centre team form a key part of the wider South Cambs Early Help/Targeted Support team.

What will you be doing?

The role of a Family Worker is an exciting, dynamic and ever-evolving role aiming to offer families within South Cambridgeshire a high-quality, package of support. You will be responsible for supporting families using a whole family approach, working with them on a 1-1 basis in their homes, and within the community.

You will complete Early Help Assessments, act as the Lead Professional for the family, work in partnership with the multi- agency team around the family and provide targeted support that enables parents, carers, children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will also lead on the organisation, planning and delivery of evidence-based group work programmes, that aim to support parents/carers with topics such as; parenting, childhood development, domestic abuse and healthy relationships.

As a Family Worker you will be motivated and positive about making a contribution to the lives of children, young people and their families. You will work both autonomously and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within the wider Early Help service. You will have the ability to recognise and act upon your safeguarding responsibilities and access specialist support for families when needed.

We are looking for a highly committed, enthusiastic, and hardworking professional who will be part of a diverse multi-disciplinary team supporting families throughout South Cambridgeshire.

You must be eligible to work in the UK

Candidates must be willing and able to travel.
