About the role

The role of a Family Worker is an exciting, dynamic, and ever-evolving role aiming to offer families within Cambridgeshire with a high-quality, bespoke package of support. You will be responsible for supporting families using a whole family approach, working with them on a 1-1 basis in their homes, and within the community. You will complete Early Help Assessments, act as the Lead Professional for the family, work in partnership with the multi- agency team around the family and provide tailored targeted intervention that enables parents, carers, children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will lead on the organisation, planning and delivery of evidence-based group work programmes that aim to support parents/carers with topics such as; parenting, childhood development, domestic abuse and healthy relationships.

  1. Knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable families and being aware of any issues a practitioner may face while working with vulnerable families in Cambridge City
  2. Competent in the use of IT and presentation of information to meet the needs of the audiences
  3. Create, maintain and develop relationships, demonstrating professional generosity with families and professionals whilst maintain professional boundaries

What will you be doing?

As a Child and Family Centre Family Worker you will be motivated, dedicated to the role, and passionate about making a positive contribution to the lives of children, young people and their families. You will work both autonomously and as a team member within the wider Early Help organisation. You will have the ability to recognise and act upon your safeguarding responsibilities and offer a high-quality service to our service users.

About you

  • You will be aged 16 or over
  • You will have a level 2 qualification in Maths and English (grace C or above) or equivalent.
  • You will have a relevant level 3 qualification (Key Skills level 3 / A level grades A-E / Level 3 NVQ)
  • You will be able to travel across the Cambridge City district.
  • You will be eligible to work in the UK

Shortlisting will take place on 6th December 2022 and shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews at Fawcett House on 15th December 2022.
