About the role
This role is a key part of our Contracts and Commissioning Team within the Project Delivery Service, which is part of the Highways and Transport Directorate. As the Commercial Manager, you will lead the Commercial Team and be responsible for the commercial career progression/development of our people in Highways and Transport.
You will be responsible for commercial support for the delivery of a range of highways services and ensure we meet the requirements of the County Council and other clients whilst demonstrating value for money.
What will you be doing?
You will be supporting the Group Manager Contracts and Commissioning and other managers within Place & Sustainability in delivering the Council and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up service planning and the flexible use of resources. Managing NEC and PFI commercial processes delivering a Highways and Transport Services throughout Place and Sustainability Directorate.
The team will work with wider teams within Project Delivery to ensure the day-to-day delivery of services achieve quality, cost and programme assurance. Achieving a high level of stakeholder satisfaction. You will interface with internal and external client teams throughout the council and external clients for third party works.
As a team you will manage and provide professional advice on commercial issues and apply cost procedures related to procurement and delivery. Supporting the development of the commercial function throughout Highways and Transport. These posts are key to adopting an improved commercially focused culture.
