We are seeking an enthusiastic Contract Management Officer to support the management of a number of key highways related contracts delivering a wide range of services.
You will work on the effective implementation and monitoring of the County Council’s Highway Contracts, primarily the Highways Term Service Contract, supporting the effective management of the contract, driving value for money and monitoring contract outcomes in line with corporate and directorate objectives.
The role sits within Cambridgeshire County Council’s Highways Contracts and Commissioning Team, working collaboratively across the council to deliver the highway service. The team delivers contract management and commissioning expertise to ensure services provided to the council are fit for purpose, cost effective and deliver against the council’s visions and ambitions. You will have proven experience of highways related work and contracts, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to work across complex systems to deliver the most efficient results through the Highway contracts.

What will you be doing?
The Contracts Management Officer will support the Contracts Manager to monitor our service provider’s performance and delivery against a number of different types of highways infrastructure programmes. This will include contract, performance and programme management, circa £60m per annum.
The role will cover NEC 3 term maintenance, PFI and NEC 4 professional services contracts and any subsequent contracts procured by the contracts and commissioning team.
You will play an integral role in the delivery of existing contracts and assist in the development of new processes, procedures and systems to drive efficiency as we move the service to digital by default solutions.
As a valued member of the team you will provide support to other team members and stakeholders and to drive effective management of the contracts.
The role is vital in ensuring effective and efficient delivery of contracts, with a systematic approach to delivery of the workstreams, determining appropriate outcome measures and key milestones to track progress, analysing information and delivering reporting functions, as required.

Highways Contracts, Construction/ civils engineering, programme management, supplier engagement.

Capable of coordinating between various departments, organised with excellent time management skills, with the ability to self-direct and work under own initiative, confident with figures, motivated to make a visible difference to our communities and drive forward change.
Open to development with opportunities to train and grow within the role and the wider contracts and commissioning team.
