About the role
We are seeking to appoint an effective, organised and efficient individual as an Admin Team Leader, on a full-time permanent basis, to join the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Coroner Service. The role will support our continued delivery a high standards of customer service as we manage increasing workloads.
The Role
You will be responsible for allocating and prioritising workloads effectively amongst the Administration Team in order to guarantee the smooth running of the Service whilst also ensuring that you develop your team’s personal development.
Main responsibilities include:
- Office Support
- Management Support
- Supervision & Development of Others
The Administration Team roles include general administration such as; answering the main telephone line, allocating emails to Coroners Officers, managing post, preparing files, case management, report scanning, and assisting in court.
The role will be based at Lawrence Court in Huntingdon (no parking is provided) however, there may be a need to occasionally travel to Peterborough or elsewhere within the jurisdiction.
The Person
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate previous line management experienced and have an organised and efficient approach to work with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
You must be proficient at using IT systems (including various Windows packages and Case Management Systems). You will be required to deliver enhanced levels of service to bereaved families, and partner agencies.
An understanding of the requirement for confidentiality is essential, as are good communication skills. From time to time these roles require the post holder to view photographs of deceased persons and to regularly work directly with the recently bereaved. Post holders need to be aware of, and able to cope with, all of these requirements.

The office is open from 8am until 4pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.00am until 3:30 pm on Friday. Officers work a variety of hours to meet business requirements.
