We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile person to join our friendly and hardworking team. 

Huntingdon Library is a busy and vibrant library catering for a growing and diverse community. As well as catering for all ages with our selection of books we organise regular activities and events and work closely with schools and other local groups.

This is a full time post based in Huntingdon Library with flexibility to cover two smaller community libraries in Sawtry and Yaxley as required.

There maybe an opportunity to complete a Team Leader Apprenticeship as part of this role.

What will you be doing?

This is primarily a customer facing role working in the library dealing with enquiries, processing stock, carrying out admin and also organising and running events.

Although there is plenty of routine work there are many opportunities to be creative.

The ability to communicate clearly and confidently is essential as part of this role includes team leading responsibilities. 

Library experience is an advantage however we would love to hear from candidates which have demonstrated excellent customer service skills in another context.

Training will be given on specific library systems but an ability to work with IT is essential.

The successful candidate will be passionate about what public libraries can offer and will be able to promote our services within the library and in wider the community.
