About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our Domestic Team at Burwell House. Our Domestic Assistants help to deliver memorable experiences for children and young people who visit our incredible education residential centre.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for helping to provide a warm welcome and homely environment for all our visits. If you have experience of general cleaning and household duties and making beds, we would love to hear from you.
The hours offered are 8 hours per week, term time only, on a Monday and Wednesday, 8am to 12pm. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required,

What will you be doing?
Laundry of in-house linen and processing of linen provided by outside contractors.
Monitoring linen and cleaning product stock levels of ensure delivery of quality service.
Cleaning of shower rooms, sinks and toilets and deep clean of areas as required. Replenish toilet rolls and bath mats.
Making beds and general cleaning and household duties as required including dusting, polishing and vacuuming.
Other appropriate duties as required
Attend relevant training as required
Follow the centre's policies and procedures regarding Environmental Health and COSHH requirements
To attend staff meetings
About you
You should have previous experience of general household tasks and have a commitment of cleaning to a high standard.
You should exhibit a good understanding of customer care.
It is essential you are able to work as part of a team, be reliable and trustworthy; have a helpful, friendly attitude, be able to work on his own initiative.
Some flexibility regarding additional hours is needed - on Tues, Thurs or Fri mornings and occasionally in the school holidays
You need to be physically able to make bunk beds and single beds
There may be opportunities to train in other areas of the centre, so a willingness to undertake other roles would be an advantage

About us
Burwell House is an outdoor education centre providing residential visits to mainly primary school children; the centre is also used by a variety of other groups over weekends and during the school holidays. We also run a children's holiday club and host outdoor theatre productions amongst other activities. We are a small team who work hard to deliver successful and enjoyable experiences for our visitors; the centre is based in a beautiful Edwardian house, surrounded by 3 acres of grounds, located in the village of Burwell, Cambridgeshire.
