Early Years and Childcare Inclusion Advisor

About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council has an exciting opportunity to support inclusive practice in the playwork and wraparound sector. This Wraparound Inclusion Adviser post is being offered on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2026. Part time work requests will be considered for this post. 

The position is a mobile post, offering flexible working opportunities, and will involve a mixture of work from home, our office based in Sunley House (Papworth Everard) and visiting and supporting wraparound settings throughout Cambridgeshire (a car and driving licence will be required). 


What will you be doing?

The main duties of the role will include: 

  • To quality improve and support identified wraparound childcare settings to ensure high quality inclusive provision
  • To deliver training and advice on inclusion within playwork and wraparound childcare provision, ensuring providers meet their duties under the Equalities Act 2010 and safeguard the needs of children with SEND
  • To provide advice and support to settings, with a view to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to thrive and be fully integrated into their childcare setting
  • To support the development of settings to increase their capacity to provide inclusive and appropriate support for children with SEND and in other groups at risk of disadvantage.


About you

The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant qualification in early years or playwork and have a thorough understanding of the sector and how to support children with SEND, with at least two years post qualification management level experience and a minimum of five years’ experience of direct work in childcare practice.
