Finance Support Co-ordinator

About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for a full time Finance Support Coordinator, sitting within our Fostering Service. This role is critical in ensuring coordination of the fostering payments to our Foster Carers.

This is a great opportunity to further develop your career in finance as well as taking on a managerial role. The team has experienced and permanent Financial Assistants in post with established links to the service areas.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for

  • managing up to 3 Finance Assistants and ensuring policy and process is followed
  • monitoring budgets and ensuring payments are made accurately and promptly
  • resolving complex queries with invoices and other payments
  • ensuring accurate budget reconciliation
  • ensuring effective debt management processes are in place and providing support to budget holders

About you

We are looking for a self motivated, organised and flexible individual with the ability to manage a small team of finance assistants alongside the operational duties and oversight of the finance tasks.

We are keen to support your development within the role and you will have access to apprenticeships and other training opportunities as well as monthly supervision.

The successful applicant will be expected to work in a hybrid way, with both office based work in Huntingdon and days working from home.
