Head of Changing Futures

About the role

Changing Futures is an ambitious new partnership programme, working to improve the experiences of people facing multiple disadvantage, by enabling them to guide professionals across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in transforming local systems.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Changing Futures to spearhead the new programme. The successful candidate will work in partnership to transform services and systems across the criminal justice, drug and alcohol, homelessness, mental health, and domestic abuse sectors. You will drive the development and implementation of the programme and project team. You will have experience managing projects, budgets and people, working across sectors, and be able to influence elected members and senior officers.

This is a role that will allow you to develop and stretch your skills and demands a highly motivated and talented individual.

This role will be hosted by Cambridgeshire County Council on behalf of the Changing Futures Partnership, funded and supported by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Public Service Board (CPPSB).

We offer flexible working with the option to work from home, but the post-holder will need to attend meetings at our offices and partner offices across the county.

This is a full-time role (37 hours per week) that is fixed term until March 2025.

What will you be doing?

You will drive this vision and oversee the work of the Partnership and support delivery, ensuring co-ordination between partners and activities. 

You will provide specialist and strategic leadership to a team tasked with supporting and delivering systems change. You will work across sectors to ensure that the system can learn, reflect, and drive long-term sustainable changes to commissioning, policy, culture, and service delivery.

You will report to the Changing Futures Strategic Board, which is formed of senior policy, delivery, and commissioning leads across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and work closely with experts by experience.

About you

You will need to subscribe to the Changing Futures values, including the belief that deep and meaningful change can be brought about through building strong partnerships and working directly with experts through experience.

The role requires a creative thinker, someone who can seek out new opportunities for the service but also the ability to deliver and implement change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to negotiate, and be a strong advocate for individuals facing multiple disadvantage.  

This is a demanding but very rewarding role in a fast-paced environment, suited to someone with experience of leading and developing system transformation.
