What will you be doing?

As our new Head of Profession for communications, marketing, and engagement, you’ll sit at the heart of the Council and be the senior professional adviser to our Political leadership, Chief Executive and Corporate Leadership Team across all these areas.  Leading teams spanning media and external relations, programme communications and campaigns, internal communications, stakeholder engagement and web and social media channels, this is a career defining leadership opportunity.

About you

An experienced Communications professional, we’ll expect you to bring the professional and technical expertise necessary to ensure we can inform, involve, and engage people and stakeholders well, across our communities, partner agencies and, of course, the council itself.  You’ll also need to be agile and adaptable in your approach, ensuring that Communications as a service is able to blend the need to be both proactive and reactive.  In addition to being highly capable and experienced, we also need a leader who shares our values and wants to create a compassionate and inclusive organisation culture.  Both the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ matters to us and for this role.

In return, you’ll have unrivalled access to our most senior political and managerial leadership, shaping our communications strategy and approach and articulating our vision of creating a Greener, Fairer and More Caring Cambridgeshire.
