We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Highway Maintenance and Management, responsible for all planned, cyclical and reactive maintenance of our roads, footways, cycleways, drainage network, green infrastructure and structures. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of our highway infrastructure, ensuring that it is safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals and work closely with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality services.

What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the highway maintenance team, ensuring the effective delivery of maintenance services. You will develop and implement maintenance strategies and plans that guarantee the long-term sustainability of our highway infrastructure. Your role will involve monitoring and evaluating the performance of maintenance activities, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Collaboration with other departments and external partners will be key to coordinating maintenance activities and addressing any issues or concerns. You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to highway maintenance and management. Managing budgets and leading the service effectively to achieve maintenance goals and objectives will be a crucial part of your responsibilities.
About you
We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader with a deep understanding of highways maintenance and management. With a strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or a related discipline, you bring a wealth of experience in leading complex services within a large and dynamic organisation. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality, customer-focused services that make a tangible difference to communities.
You will combine technical expertise with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, enabling you to inspire teams, build strong partnerships, and drive continuous improvement. Your ability to think strategically and act decisively ensures that services are not only compliant and efficient but also innovative and forward-thinking.
