This is a 5 month fixed term contract (February 2023 - June 2023) - Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Health & Safety team as Maternity Cover for the role of Health & Safety Business Partner. This is a great opportunity in local government, within a forward-thinking and innovative team, working within an innovative and supportive County Council.
The Health & Safety Business Partner role reports directly to the Strategic Health & Safety Manager and will have a high level of responsibility in the provision and development of a proactive and dynamic Health & Safety service.

What will you be doing?
This is a 5 month fixed term contract (February 2023 - June 2023) - Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Health & Safety team as Maternity Cover for the role of Health & Safety Business Partner. At Cambridgeshire County Council, the Health & Safety Team has a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation manage risks and is a positive catalyst for change. You will deliver reliable and effective assurances to Cambridgeshire County Council and its stakeholders, considering the extent to which the health & safety arrangements are fit for purpose and operating well in practice.
The team is based at our newly constructed civic headquarters at New Shire Hall in Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon, and operates a flexible working policy. There is the opportunity to work remotely as well as from our central base at New Shire Hall, and travel is required to other Cambridgeshire offices.
About you
Successful applicants will be team players and great communicators, with the desire to think innovatively and strategically about how to improve the way systems and services work, challenge current processes, and work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation. Experience in Adults & Children’s social care would be a particular advantage.
Applicants for the Health & Safety Business Partner role must have the NEBOSH Diploma or similar.
