Information Management Analyst

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the busy Information Governance service and specifically in helping to deliver the important service of Freedom of Information Act requests. We receive a wide range of requests asking for information about work the council does, decisions we make and projects we undertake. The Information Governance service play a key role in ensuring that our answers comply with legislation, provide context and explain what the council does.

What will you be doing?

The role will involve reviewing electronic and paper information which may relate to decisions, projects, contracts and council services such as highways, transport, social care matters, and education. You should be able to apply your knowledge to ensure that the council provides disclosure in line with legislation and ICO guidance within the statutory timescales. This will involve carefully reviewing records and using software to apply redactions to information which is not disclosable. 

The service provide advice and guidance across the council so you should be able to demonstrate our knowledge of FOI, EIR and data protection legislation.
