Lead Technician

About the role

The Lead Technician role is based in the Policy and Regulation Team and provides an excellent opportunity for a conscientious individual looking help us manage the highway network for all road users, including pedestrians, to improve road safety and access to facilities.

The position will support the Highway Authority in delivering a traffic regulation order service, contributing to the Council and Directorate’s objectives through joined-up working, community engagement and the flexible use of resources. 

Your contribution will ensure a customer focus in the service delivery and ensure benefits are realised for communities in terms of improving the environment and conserving resources.

Working with Community Groups and Partners, dealing with customer correspondence from Parish Councils and members of the public. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written and be able to build relationships with the community, elected members, businesses, partner organisations and other stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

Responsible for carrying out the statutory process for the making of Traffic Regulation orders (TROs). Drafting all relevant legal documentation ready for formal advertising of the scheme in the media and on the CCC website. Collating responses to the formal consultation. Preparing detailed reports to enable Members/Managers to determine unresolved objections. Making of the TRO including sealing. As required by the Highways Service and other organisations.

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who preferably have experience in traffic engineering or a highway related background.
