Mobile Library Driver Supervisor
Location: Witchford depot covering the Fenland & East cambs area
Salary: Scale 4/5 £22,369 - £26,845
Hours: full time / job share considered
We have a vacancy for a Full-time driver on our Mobile Libraries, driving and operating across Cambridgeshire. We will also welcome applications from those wanting to job share this role.
This role is a sociable, community focused opportunity for an individual interested in community engagement and libraries.
The position involves driving predetermined routes in mostly rural villages across Cambridgeshire, including visits to schools, sheltered & residential accommodation and regular village/town locations.

What will you be doing?
You will be driving 7.5t Mobile Library vehicle around the Fenland & East Cambs delivering front line library services to communities served.
You will play a part in promoting and developing the Mobile Library service, ensuring effective communication with all partners and acting as an advocate for the library service within the community.
You will be working alone but as part of a close team of driver supervisors in other parts of the county.
You will be responsible for the upkeep of the Mobile Library vehicle and equipment.
About you
We are looking for an individual who is
- Competent and confident with driving large vehicles in both urban and rural settings. A C1 entitlement necessary to drive our Mobile Libraries.
- Able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers
- Confident in using IT and social media (training will be given on specific library systems)
- Excellent at multi-tasking, efficient, happy to work under pressure & confident with working alone on a Mobile Library.
- Passionate about what public libraries offer, and able to promote our services.
- Library experience is desirable, but we also welcome candidates who have demonstrated exceptional customer service elsewhere.

Staff may also occasionally be asked to cover other roles within Cambridgeshire libraries.
Some evening and weekend working will be required to attend promotional events, acting as a representative of the Library Service, The County Council and partner organisations. A need for flexibility on occasions to suit the needs of the service is required.
