Operational Lead - Provider Services (Learning Disabilities)

About the role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Operational Lead for the In House Provider Services within the Cambridgeshire.  Joining the Learning Disability Service Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will take lead responsibility for the delivery and development of a range of both CQC Regulated and non-regulated services.

The role is key to supporting the Council’s aspirations to provide high quality services which provide value for money and improved outcomes for people we support.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will lead and provide management advice and support for Operational Managers and their teams, each of whom have responsibility for services such as Supported Living, Respite, Day Services, Shared Lives and Cambridgeshire Outreach.   A key aspect of the role is to regularly liaise with the community learning disability service as commissioners, contracts, brokerage and finance to implement the Council’s objectives.

You will be responsible for making decisions in relation to the management of risk and ensuring services are delivered safely, along with decisions specific to staffing and people who use our services. This will include leading on investigations and involvement in safeguarding. Sound financial oversight of the budget and resources available will be an essential element of this role, along with a creative approach to developing new initiatives both within the learning disability service and the strategic direction of travel in other areas within the Council. 

About you

You will have demonstrable and extensive knowledge of delivering high quality CQC regulated services, and you will be able to forge strong and collaborative working relationships with both internal and external partners.

You will have a creative and dynamic approach to service improvements with an ability to identify and drive forward change and efficiency. Your commitment to improving outcomes and promoting independence for people who use our services will be fundamental to the successful candidate in this role.
