About Us

Trumpington Early Years and Childcare is a 52-place setting and is open from 7.30am – 6.00pm, term time Monday to Friday. It operates a pre-school and wraparound provision, including school age children up to seven years old. The setting was recently inspected by Ofsted (18th October 2021) and received a “Good” inspection judgement. TEYC is a relatively new setting and Cambridgeshire Early Years’ Service took over the management of it in April 2020.  

Role Opportunities

We are recruiting for a fixed term, part-time (08.30am-13.30pm, Mon-Fri) position in our pre-school until 20th December 2023.  The post is term time only. The position available is for a qualified childcare practitioner holding either an approved Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-qualifications-finder). There may be a possibility that this position could be made permanent depending on staffing needs longer term, however at this stage, the post is fixed term only.

Job Overview – Qualified Childcare Practitioner (Level 2/3 in Early Years)

The Qualified Childcare Practitioner will provide a high standard of care, education and play for children. The role involves working as part of a team to provide a safe environment for children to play, learn and help them develop.

The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain strong partnerships with parents of the local community to enable the children’s development needs to be met.  They will be required to work within an existing supportive team and have good communication skills. They will also have a good knowledge of safeguarding, equalities and SEND. The candidate will undertake planning and work directly with children providing fun, engaging and educational play and learning opportunities.

This role is subject to DBS clearance. Applicants must provide two references as we are unable to process your application without them.​
