The Practice Standards and Quality Team need you!
We have a rare and exciting opportunity available for the right person to join us as a Quality Assurance Development Officer within the Practice Standards and Quality Team, which works across Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council’s Adult services.
The team’s work is evidence based using information obtained through audits, case reviews and working with front line social care teams. Aspects of the team’s activities include running social care practice workshops across the two councils, developing practice factsheets, staff guidance and newsletters, working with other areas of the council to provide a joined-up approach to social care, supporting the facilitation of huddles and working with others to develop best social care practice in the two councils’ Adults Social Care.
The team is small but effective with a strong emphasis on social care values and good social care practice standards.

What will you be doing?
Your day-to-day duties will include coordinating the production and review of all practitioner facing documentation for Adult Social Care, including maintaining the governance of practice documentation for Adult Social Care. You will plan and facilitate regular meetings with others in the team to ensure the scrutiny of documentation and maintain an effective cycle of review.
You will also hold responsibility for the administration of the adult practitioner internal internet site, including the adding and removing of documents as required (full training will be provided).
You will support the work of the Practice Governance Board by supporting the Quality and Practice Team Manager at meetings, ensuring all documentation is shared with board members in a timely manner and capturing actions for the team. You will also be responsible for maintaining the services’ improvement action plan, including monitoring the progress of actions with managers across the different service areas.
A large part of the team’s role is about developing relationships with services across the two councils. As such you will act as a link worker from the Practice Standards and Quality team, working with other service areas to ensure a consistent approach to operational social care practice.
At times you may be called on to support the administration of the audit process for Adult Social Care across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and support the Practice Standards and Quality Officers and Quality and Practice Manager with the arrangements around practice workshops and team activities.
Your line manager will the be Quality and Practice Manager, but as a small and close team, you will receive daily support from all within the team.
About you
It is essential that you are skilled in using Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, One Drive). As a team we have various routes of incoming work and different things going on at different times, so it is important that you are able to demonstrate excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
As part of the role involves supporting with the administrative functions around Practice Governance Board meetings, you must have an eye for detail.
We are a team which works across service areas and we work hard to form and maintain positive working relationships with our colleagues. As you will also act as a link worker for some of the other areas of the business a track record of positive partnership working will be beneficial as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
