Quality Assurance Officer

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available to join us as a Quality Assurance Officer, working across Cambridgeshire County Council’s Children’s services, including Targeted Support, Youth Justice and SEND.

You will be joining a small, but growing team that has a strong emphasis on social care values and good social care practice standards.  We are committed to supporting our colleagues in their journey to excellence and are passionate about improving outcomes for the children and families we serve.

This is a hybrid role with a base in Cambridge, Huntingdon or Wisbech.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail please email Helen Love, Service Manager Quality Assurance, Participation and Independent Visitors via helen.love@Cambridgeshire.gov.uk to arrange a phone call or Teams meeting.

Interviews will be held in person at New Shire Hall, in Alconbury Weald, on Tuesday 9th July 2024.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

Your role will be varied and interesting and will include:

  • Interpreting data, utilising feedback and liaising with the service to plan audit activity.
  • Completing audits (both desktop and side by side with practitioners)
  • Report writing.
  • Sharing your findings in creative ways, with a wide-ranging audience, including senior leaders.
  • Informing and delivering workforce development activities, such as workshops – working closely with colleagues in our Learning and Development Service and the Cambridgeshire Academy for Reaching Excellence (CARE).
  • Supporting the delivery of quality assurance systems and monitoring tools.
  • Assisting leaders in coordinating quality and performance monitoring activity within services.
  • Engaging with those who receive a service to ensure their voice is at the centre of all we do.

About you

You are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.  You have comprehensive experience in either a social care or youth justice setting, and you are keen to utilise the knowledge you have gained to drive service improvement and have a positive impact for the children and families we serve.

You can be flexible with changing demands and are creative in your approaches to meeting work challenges.

You will enjoy working in a small, supportive team as well as having the opportunity to work collaboratively with the wider workforce.

Central to your practice is the voice of those who receive a service and you are ambitious about improving participation, both in terms of individual experience and wider service development.
