About the role
Are you passionate about making a difference and connecting with people? Join us in improving colleague retention through exit interviews and questionnaires.
Your work with exit interviews will directly impact job satisfaction for the whole organisation. Feedback from departing colleagues has led to better training packages, updated policies, enhanced benefits, and even encouraged some to stay. While some conversations may be challenging, this role offers the chance to make a real difference.
We operate on a hybrid basis, working from home or our state-of-the-art offices in Alconbury Weald. Exit interviews are offered virtually or in-person, depending on the leaver’s preference, so travel to other offices across the county is required.
Our team aim to meet at least a couple of times a month for collaborative work and as needed. Despite the remote work setup, we stay in close contact, fostering a friendly and supportive environment.
This role is for 18.5 hours per week, spread over at least three days. We’re flexible with working hours and days to help you achieve the best work-life balance.
The council is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we work to ensure that we promote and develop fair, unbiased recruitment and retention practices.
For more information about the role, please contact Jenny Hancock at jenny.hancock@cambridgeshire.gov.uk, and I will be happy to arrange a call at a convenient time to answer your questions and give you some detail about the role.
Interviews will be held at New Shire Hall, Alconbury Weald, on the 15th October
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will promote, arrange, and conduct exit interviews with leavers. You'll also gather data from online exit questionnaires, identify trends, and collaborate with the Retention Advisor to present your findings and recommendations to our HR Business Partners.
While an existing exit interview process is in place, you'll have the opportunity to make it your own. You'll have the freedom to plan your workday and set priorities to accommodate exit interviews and data presentations.
We'll support you in understanding our internal systems, but you can expect to use Microsoft packages daily.
For more information, please see the attached Job Description/Person Specification.
About you
We don’t require direct experience for this role, but you must have outstanding communication skills and resilience. You’ll build trust with our leavers ensuring they feel comfortable being open and honest in their responses. This starts with the first contact you make, so your writing skills should be excellent. Since you may be the last impression they have of the organisation, you’ll need to conduct exit interviews with confidence, friendliness, compassion and empathy.
Experience in data analysis and presentation is a plus, but we can help you develop those skills. If you believe you have the right communication skills for this role, please apply now.
