About the role

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Road Safety Partnership is a multi-agency Partnership Board that takes strategic ownership for preventing and reducing the severity of road collisions across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The partnership has recently launched an impressive Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy, which aims to eliminate road deaths and severe injuries by 2040.

The Vision Zero Partnership consists of the following organisations: Cambridgeshire County Council; Peterborough City Council; Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough; Cambridgeshire Constabulary; Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Joint Protective Services (Roads Policing); National Highways; Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service; East of England Ambulance Service; Public Health; Addenbrooke’s Hospital; the Roads Victim’s Trust, and Magpas.

This role will be hosted by Cambridgeshire County Council on behalf of the Partnership. The partnership service operates across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and we are flexible about work location with the option to work from home, but the ability to travel to different locations is essential. This role is fixed term until 31st March 2026 with the possibility of an extension.

What will you be doing?

As Road Safety Partnership Delivery Manager, you will drive this vision and oversee the work of the Safe Systems approach and support delivery, ensuring co-ordination between partners and activities. The role will include challenging the workstream leads to ensure that evidence and data are at the core of intervention and activity design.
 
The Road Safety Partnership Delivery Manager will lead on the implementation of best practice, using the latest research and evaluation of results to ensure an evidence-led approach.
 
The expertise, knowledge and experience pooled in Safe Systems workstreams will be dedicated to coordinated problem solving, ensuring that a range of evidence-led solutions are implemented, outcome-focused with reference to performance indicators and road safety targets.
 
This is a demanding but very rewarding role in a fast-paced environment, suited to someone with experience of leading and developing change management with an in-depth knowledge of road safety and strong communication within a collaborative environment.

 

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual who can work collaboratively with our key partners to deliver the Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, as its Partnership Delivery Manager.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering or social sciences, and be an experienced project manager.
