About the role
Cambridgeshire County Council’s Place and Sustainability Directorate delivers services across areas such as transport, new infrastructure, roads, and the environment. It aims to manage and deliver the growth and development of sustainable communities, meet the challenges of climate change and enhance the natural environment.
The Road Safety team sits within the Transport Strategy and Network Management Service and is looking to develop a centre of excellence within the Council across road safety disciplines. The Council has recently adopted a Vision Zero strategy aiming to eliminate road deaths and severe injuries by 2040 and is looking for people who share this ambitious vision to join the team leading on the Safe Road and Safe Road User aspects of this strategy.
The service operates flexibly, with opportunities to work remotely as well as a central base in Huntingdon but the ability to travel to different locations across the county is essential.

What will you be doing?
The role contributes to the effective running of the Road Safety team and office and provides administration, financial, management and supervision support to ensure that services are delivered to a high standard.
About you
The successful candidate will be required to provide high quality administrative support to the team and must have a working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). You will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible. You will have the ability to manage your own workload whilst being able to prioritise and forward plan.
The role involves liaising with colleagues, professionals and members of the public over the telephone, email and face-to-face, so excellent communication skills are essential.
