Cleaner – 2 days a week plus relief

Vacancy at St Helen’s Primary School - Bluntisham
Hours of work: Thursday/Friday (15:30 to 18:00) plus relief cover when required to cover staff absence - 15:30 to 18:00 Mon – Fri during term-time and potential cover during school holidays by arrangement with the caretaker or Headteacher.
Scale: 1C Point 03
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking to appoint a Cleaner to join our happy, friendly and supportive team. As one of our cleaners, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and clean site, which is aesthetically pleasing and promotes the well-being of all. You will become an integral member of our team so good communication and a positive attitude are essential.

This role will be to clean Thu/Fri and to provide cover for cleaning staff absence. The working pattern will typically be 15:30 to 18:00 Thu/Fri and on the days you are asked to provide cover. An alternative working pattern could be agreed for the right candidate after initial training, as agreed with the caretaker and/or Headteacher. We are a small village school where staff and children are committed to working together.

• Makes excellent use of their initiative.

What will you be doing?

Your role will include:
• A range of cleaning operations, dusting, polishing, washing, vacuuming, bin emptying etc..
• Working as a team to meet the expected cleaning standards as set by the school.
• To follow the cleaning frequency as laid out by the school.
• To ensure correct usage of cleaning materials.
• To have due regard for the Health and Safety and to report any issues to the Caretaker and or Headteacher.
