Senior Business Officer

About the role

We currently have two full-time vacancies for the role of Senior Business Officer in Children's Services (37 hours per week). These roles will be fixed-term for 1 year until the end of September 2024 and the base for these positions will be Buttsgrove Centre in Huntingdon. The roles will be offered on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of office & home working.

What will you be doing?

The overall aim of these roles is to provide business support to the Children’s Services Directorate, supporting key functions undertaken by Heads of Service. The remit will include, but is not limited to; administrative responsibilities for key panel meetings including the organisation, minuting and distribution of documentation, data collation to support senior managers with decision making, support during inspections, booking and coordinating large and complex meetings and monitoring a central inbox that will be used to coordinate work amongst the two roles. The two roles are new which provides scope for the post-holders to make the roles their own. Whilst the job description describes line management responsibilities, these posts do not currently have any direct reports. The roles will report into a Business Development Coordinator within Children’s Services.

About you

The roles will involve liaising with senior managers & colleagues; therefore excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must have excellent knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet), and be able to work using their own initiative. You will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible, with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise and forward plan. The successful candidate will also have proven experience & understanding of working with GDPR regulations. 

This is an exciting opportunity to provide administrative support within Children’s Services, and work closely with the senior management team.
