Senior Public Health Manager – Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response – Maternity cover/Secondment

About the role

An opportunity has arisen to join our Public Health team as maternity cover and secondment options are being considered.  

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the Public Health Directorate for 7 to 12 month maternity cover, working across Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.

This will be a hybrid role based at New Shire Hall, Alconbury, involving some working from home and some travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to partnership meetings.

Interviews will be held on 3rd April 2023 at Peterborough City Council, Sand Martin House, Peterborough PE2 8TY 

What will you be doing?

A key part of the role is to provide assurance to the DPH that there is coordinated local planning for emergencies and incidents which impact on the health of the public; and that health emergency planning and resilience issues identified through the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Local Resilience Forum and the C&P Local Health Resilience Partnership are being addressed by the relevant organisations. This would involve writing of emergency plans, exercising these and implementing lessons identified.

About you

The successful candidate will have knowledge or experience of emergency planning and an interest in health emergencies. They will be comfortable working with a wide variety of system stakeholders at a senior level as they will work closely with partners in the Councils, Integrated Care System and wider partners including the police.

The Senior Public Health Manager – EPRR will be the first point of contact within public health for any issues relating to EPRR and will be required to provide high quality tactical EPRR policy advice.
