About the role
Sensory Services are a specialist team including qualified Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Workers who have specialist knowledge in all aspects of; sight loss/blindness, hard of hearing/deafness and dual sensory loss/deaf blindness. The team provide information, advice and practical rehabilitation to improve the wellbeing of its service users. The Service aims to provide greater independence, improved wellbeing, improve confidence, delay and reduce the need for funded support, prevent falls, accidents and hospital admission and support.

What will you be doing?
You will be working collaboratively with colleagues across the health and social care sectors to develop procedures, processes and systems and manage staff that will ensure effective and efficient service delivery, ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, Care Act and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC), policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Sensory Service as well as holding a complex caseload requiring assessment and rehabilitation planning.
About you
You will need problem-solving skills, experience of managing KPIs, good multidisciplinary working skills and experience of line management.
You will need to have strong and accurate literacy, numeracy and administrative skills and the ability to analyse information to ensure best approach. It is imperative that you have strong communication skills, a confident telephone manner and can work on your own initiative.
Good planning and organisation skills will be key, and you should be used to working under pressure to meet deadlines, allowing flexibility and resilience.
You must hold a degree in rehabilitation / habilitation.
