Senior Support Worker - Day Service - Ely. 33.5hours

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker, working 33.5 hours per week, supporting older people at Larkfield Resource Centre in Ely.  This position will involve supporting the Team Leader,  line managing a team of Support Workers, and enabling older people to access activities in the community and in the day service. 

We are looking for a person who is interested and skilled in creating and leading activities such as craft, gardening, cooking and music, as well as supporting service users to access community resources, for example, swimming and the library.

What will you be doing?

To enable older people to live as independently as possible, and to enjoy lifestyles as close to those enjoyed by other members of the community. To support and empower older people to enhance the quality of their life, maximise potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills.

To work within Mental Capacity legislation and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and have the ability to apply legislation within your area of responsibility.

You will support the Team Leader and line manage a team of Support Workers providing support, training and supervision.

About you

You will have a Level 3 qualification or above, in Health and Social (or equivalent), or be able and willing to work towards this at the earliest opportunity.
