Senior Support Worker - Jasmine House

About the role

Jasmine House Supported Living  is based in the town of Ely and supports tenants in a communal house.

The role of Senior Support Worker is to lead a staff team of Support Workers to support and empower adults with a learning disability to enhance the quality of their life, maximise potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills within their home, the community, or within a supported unit or whilst accessing respite.

You will line manage a team of Support Workers providing support, training and supervision.

What will you be doing?

You will report to the Registered Manager to ensure the service meets the CQC requirements.

You will ensure that information within the Service is accurate and up to date and reviewed to meet requirements. This may include care plans, medication management and recording, health action plans, hospital passports, risk assessments, safeguarding, and accident and incident reports.  You will also undertake audits and quality assurance checks.

Take responsibility for more complex health needs and liaise with health professionals. Attend meetings and appointments with professionals when required. To work within Mental Capacity legislation and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and have the ability to apply legislation within your area of responsibility.

Managing staff resources to ensure the service has adequate staff cover to agreed levels will also be required.

This post is for 30 hours per week, requires you to work various shifts (between 8am- 10pm.) and to work one weekend in four as well as selected Bank Holidays as part of a rota for which additional enhancements are paid. It is also a requirement to complete a minimum of one pre-arranged sleep-in shift a month.

The starting pay for the posts is £12.70 per hour (£19.05 Saturday hours- £23.24 Sunday hours).

About you

You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for the purposes of case recording and will hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or related subject.

 As a Senior Support Worker, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as having proficient IT skills.

You will be able to demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion principles and anti-discriminatory practice.

Show an understanding of the principles of a supported living/ respite Provision.
