Service Development Manager

About the role

The Household Advice and Support Team (HAST) was developed to respond to the Cost of Living crisis and to support residents experiencing immediate financial hardship.  The team is responsible for the delivery of the Household Support Fund, a grant that has been awarded by HM Government to help those in need and most affected.

The team is currently undergoing service transformation in preparation for the future as part of Cambridgeshire County Council's strategic ambition to 'help people out of poverty and income inequality'

What will you be doing?

As a Service Development Manager you will be working with the HAST management team to lead on the implementation of the project plan to help refine and enhance the service offer.

In addition, you will also be responsible for the day to day management of Cambridgeshire County Council's implementation of the national Household Support Fund grant including collating and submitting national Management Information returns. 

You will be responsible for keeping key stakeholders briefed and ensuring all elements of the project plan and service development are on track and escalate issues to senior members of the team where required. 

Cambridgeshire County Council has seven ambitions to help achieve it's vision of "Creating a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire" therefore you will need to work closely with the Anti-Poverty Strategic Lead to ensure the HAST service development continues to align with organisational priorities. 

About you

You will require a good understanding of programme and project management, with strong communication skills for a variety of stakeholders. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work will both in a team and independently. You recognise and appreciate the challenges many residents are facing as a result of the cost of living crisis and have a real passion for problem solving.

Please note this is a fixed term role until the end of March 2024 with the possibility of an extension to 31st March 2025
