About the role
We are looking for someone to lead our Stock and Systems Team to help deliver a library management system and book stock that meets the diverse needs of Cambridgeshire residents.
You would be joining Cambridgeshire libraries at an exciting time. The library estate is due to grow with 5 new libraries added over the next 5 years to the 31 libraries we currently manage 3 mobile libraries and 11 community led libraries we support.
The stock and systems team support frontline delivery ensuring services meet our ambitions to provide a comprehensive service that reflects the diverse needs of the community. You will work closely with all library teams including specialist business support, community health information, development and volunteer teams as well as libraries across the 5 districts that make up Cambridgeshire.

What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the library stock fund, a team of 2.5 FTE Stock and System assistants and our Oak Court base - the distribution centre for our library network. You will take a lead in distributing the library stock budget across our library service.
You will also take a lead on our library management system, helping keep staff up to date on latest developments and taking a lead role in our SPINE partnership with Peterborough, Suffolk and Norfolk libraries,
The role will give you a chance to work as part of a team delivering a variety of exciting capital projects as part of Cambridgeshire libraries, such as new library provision at Darwin Green, Northstowe and Alconbury as well advising on stock management across the library estate.
The stock and Systems team is part of the central library support team that provides services across the county.
This is a hybrid role that will be based in the office at least 2-3 days per week.

About you

- will be a strong team worker, able to support the wider service as part of the Library Support Services.
- are confident managing budgets
- can liaise with suppliers and work through the council's procurement frameworks
- are confident in IT use with a strong background with MS Office
- have knowledge of the public library service and its ethos
