Strategic Lead Commissioning– External Workforce Programme

About the role

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to appoint a Strategic Commissioning Lead for our External Workforce Programme to join our Adult’s Commissioning Service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an established high performing commissioning division with an outstanding reputation for leading the way in Adult’s commissioning.

The role is available on a 12-month fixed term basis.

The post will be based in our offices at Alconbury/Huntingdon and we offer hybrid working, supported by flexible and agile working practices. Some travel will be required across the county.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will lead on the strategic delivery and transformation of workforce development, focusing on our external adult social care provider market. This will involve working with care providers to deliver improvements that will strengthen the workforce and hence increase the quality of care provided to our residents.

About you

The right candidate will have:

  •  A proven ability to lead the development of transformation strategies to deliver the strategic priorities of the department
  • Experience of successfully managing and delivering complex   programmes of work
  • Excellent networking skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver complex change programmes
  • Be able to demonstrate drive and determination to ensure our vision aims and business objectives are comprehensively delivered on time, to budget, offering value for money services that do not compromise on quality or achievement of identified outcomes.
  • Understanding of the pressures and opportunities facing local authorities and the adult social care market in Cambridgeshire.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of a Standard DBS Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
