Alder Close Supported Living & Respite is based in the town of March and supports tenants in a range of bungalows and houses at Alder Close and Cornmill, March.

The role of Support Worker is to enable adults with a disability to live as

independently as possible and to enjoy lifestyles as close to those enjoyed

by other members of the community. We support and empower individuals

to enhance the quality of their life, maximise potential and to continue to

 promote and develop independence skills within their home or whilst

 staying at Respite.

What will you be doing?

You will report to the Senior Support worker and work in a small team to

provide practical support, you will build on their existing skills and abilities

whilst respecting their individual needs and choices.

 

This includes supporting with personal care where needed, cleaning, shopping, and accessing community activities and opportunities. The role will involve administration of medication and completing a pre-arranged sleep-in shift at least once a month.

 

The post requires you to work various shifts (between 8am- 10pm.) and to work two weekends in four as well as selected Bank Holidays as part of a rota for which additional enhancements are paid.

The starting pay for the posts is £11.18 per hour with enhancements for hours worked on weekends and Bank Holidays.

About you

You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for the

 purposes of case recording and to enable you to work towards NVQ Level 2/3

 in Health and Social Care if you do not already hold this qualification.

 As a Support Worker you will need to have experience of supporting a

 person with a disability or a vulnerable adult. Excellent verbal and written

communication skills as well as some IT skills. Ability to demonstrate

awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion as well as

 the need for safety and confidentiality in the role.
