Support Worker- Larksfield Supported Living

About the role

Larksfield Supported living is based in the town of Wisbech and supports tenants in their own flats. You will be part of a team that supports people with disabilities to live in their own home. The service also provides communal areas and shared kitchen/dining area for tenant to meet and enjoy social activities.

 The role of Support Worker is to enable adults with a disability to live as independently as possible and to enjoy lifestyles as close to those enjoyed by other members of the community. We support and empower individuals to enhance the quality of their life, maximise potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills.

What will you be doing?

You will report to the Senior Support worker and work in a small team to provide practical support, you will build on their existing skills and abilities whilst respecting their individual needs and choices.

This includes supporting with personal care where needed, cleaning, shopping, accessing community activities and opportunities and learning new skills. The role will involve administration of medication.

You will be using IT to update documents such as support plans, risk assessments and will have a good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and assessments of capacity.

This role is for 28 hours per week. The shifts are on a 4-week rota which could be subject to change to meet service need. These will be during the week, at weekends or Bank Holidays (between 8am- 10pm.), additional enhancements are paid for weekends and Bank Holidays. You will be required to work two weekend shifts, twice a month.

The starting pay for the posts is £11.18 per hour (£16.77 Saturday hours- £20.45 Sunday hours).
