Support worker - Cherry Meadows - Huntingdon Supported Living and Respite

About the role

Cherry Meadows is a new supported living service which is part of Huntingdon Respite & Supported Living. It provides Short Breaks and Supported Living services for adults with a learning disability.  Our aim is to support and empower service users to enhance their quality of life, maximise potential and to continue to develop and promote independence skills within their own homes, in the short break service and in the community.

We have 1 part time (22.5 hours) Support Worker Vacancy in Cherry Meadows

The salary is pro rata and enhancements are paid for unsociable hours, Saturdays and Sundays.

Hourly rate £12.18 per hour

07:00-08:00 - £14.86 per hour

Saturday rate - £16.77 per hour

Sunday rate - £19.90

What will you be doing?

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and creative team players who are committed to providing high quality support.  You will need to support people with personal care tasks and have a willingness and capacity to work with people who may challenge. 

Our Supported Living bungalows are regulated by CQC and you will be required to have some knowledge and understanding of the Key Lines of Enquiry; or be willing to work towards this.

Staff will have the benefits of regular supervision, annual appraisals and excellent training opportunities.

Hours are on a shift basis (7am – 3pm/3pm-10pm) shifts may at times be shorter for part time staff, shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays, and you will be expected to undertake sleeping-in shifts. Generous enhancements are paid for working unsocial hours i.e. weekends and bank holidays.

About you

No formal qualifications are essential, but a good standard of education is required. There is a requirement to complete an induction which may include the Care Certificate. A willingness to undertake a formal qualification / apprenticeship in social care is essential.
