What will you be doing?
The role of Young People’s Worker (YPW) is an exciting, varied and highly skilled role aiming to offer Young People aged 12- 19 with intensive 1-1 support to enable them to reach positive outcomes in their life. As a YPW you will primarily support an individual young person, however, will exercise a whole family approach in order to analyse how the support provided impacts not only the young person, but their family as well. You will complete Early Help Assessments, act as the Lead Professional for the young person, work in partnership with the multi- agency team around the family and provide tailored targeted intervention that enables young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will lead on the organisation, planning and delivery of evidence-based group work programmes that aim to support young people with topics such as; emotional resilience, risk taking behaviour, healthy relationships and more. You will also support the delivery of parenting programmes delivered to parents of teenagers.
As a Young People’s Worker, you will be motivated, dedicated to the role and have a passion for making a positive contribution to lives of Young People and their families. You will work both autonomously and as a team member within the wider Early Help organisation. You will have the ability to recognise and act upon your safeguarding responsibilities and offer a high-quality service to our service users.
About you
Do you have a relevant level 3 qualification?
Please attach a CV and Supporting statement that tells us how you meet the following 4 essential criteria:
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing young people and parents of teenagers in South Cambridgeshire
- Experience of multi-agency and partnership working to ensure the best outcomes for young people in South Cambridgeshire
- The ability to write objective assessments and to complete accurate triage as part of work with young people in South Cambridgeshire
- Knowledge of relevant legislation in relation to safeguarding young people. Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and escalation procedures
