Young Peoples worker

About the role

We are currently looking for a full time, fixed term (37 hours) enthusiastic Young Peoples Worker (YPW). As a Young People’s Worker, you will plan, deliver and lead agreed support packages and programmes for targeted young people.

This role is part of the Wisbech Targeted Support Team.  This role may take you across Fenland as required.  As part of a Targeted Support Team, you will work directly with vulnerable young people both individually and in groups following Youth Work professional principles and practices including best practice in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to meet the core outcomes defined within the specification for Cambridgeshire’s Youth Support Service.

This will also include working with the wider community and with key statutory and voluntary agencies to enable positive activities for young people and where appropriate raise external funding to provide positive activities. This role may include some evening and weekend work.

The role of Young People’s Worker (YPW) is an exciting, varied and highly skilled role supporting young people (aged 12 to 19) with intensive one to one support to enable them to reach positive outcomes. YPW’s support individual young people, however they use a whole family approach to analyse how support provided impacts on the young person’s family.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This is a fixed term position. Salary will be between £27,344 and £32,020 pa, depending on experience.
