Business Officer - Child and Family Centre

About the role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work within the Local Authority and gain experience within Children’s Services? We require 1 full time (37 hours) and 1 part time (16.5 hours) Business Officers to provide administrative support to the East Cambridgeshire Child and Family Centre team.

Child and Family Centres are part of a wider Targeted Support District team, whose aim is to improve outcomes for all children and to reduce inequalities in outcomes between children growing up with disadvantages and the wider population.

The successful candidates will primarily be responsible for supporting the East Cambridgeshire Child and Family Centres, however there is an expectation that Business Officers will be able to travel and work flexibly across various locations within Cambridgeshire where we are delivering a service.

What will you be doing?

This is a varied role, and you will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages and be able to use databases.

You will be required to provide high quality administrative support to the team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within the Local Authority and develop knowledge and understanding of Children's Services.

You will be required to liaise with colleagues, professionals and members of the public over the phone, via email and face-to-face which is an integral part of this role. Therefore, excellent communication skills are essential alongside an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
