About the role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work within the Local Authority and gain experience within Children’s Services? We require 1 full time (37 hours) Business Officer to provide administrative support to the Children’s Social Care Teams within the Children, Education and Families Directorate.

The role will include the providing high quality administration to the wider team including financial support and minuting of Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings along with Strategy Discussion meetings, therefore previous minuting experience is desirable.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting the East Cambs Family Support and Safeguarding Team and will be based in Noble House, Ely, although there is an expectation that Business Officers are able to work flexibly across various locations. The role includes a mix of office and home working.

What will you be doing?

This is a varied role, and you will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. You should have a methodical and concise approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases.

You will be required to provide high quality administrative support to the wider team to undertake tasks such as financial support and minuting meetings. You will need to have the ability to summarise and produce information in a concise manner as minuting meetings is a key task of the role.

You will be required to liaise with colleagues, professionals and members of the public over the phone, via email and face-to-face is an integral part of this role and therefore, excellent communication skills are essential alongside an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
