About the role

This role is a full time post on a Fixed Term Contract for 18 months, the role will be based across the Huntingdonshire district. 

This role is suited to a person who has experience of delivering information, advice and guidance in an educational setting.

Our work to date has identified those in need, who often want to work and/or upskill but may have a range of practical challenges from childcare to transport, that makes retraining or accessing employment challenging. We are looking for someone who can engage with these individuals and help and guide them to achieve their goals.

What will you be doing?

You will deliver impartial careers information, advice and guidance to individuals and support the third sector organisations to source and deliver the required skills and expertise. These activities will take place via a series of key community settings, such as community groups, emergency food hubs, local jobs clubs and via housing associations, providing tailored and targeted support. 

Your work will engage with residents in need and support them in overcoming their barriers and in ultimately accessing training, gaining work which is likely to contribute not just to employment benefits, but also reduction in demand on other services – health, mental health, financial need etc.

You will keep adequate records and ensure your comply with GDPR guidelines.

About you

This is a dynamic role, where you will need to be organised and able to plan and manage your own time effectively. 

You will need to be confident in talking to people from service users to third sector organisations and have a positive and proactive approach to supporting individuals with their next steps.

You will need to have a good understanding of the UK qualification structure, solid experience in delivering careers advice and support in a group or one to one basis.
