Project Engineer - Street Lighting

About the role

You will work on the development and implementation and monitoring of the County Council’s programme of street lighting projects and local infrastructure projects and support the management of the Authority’s Highways Service commissions including the streetlighting PFI Contract that deliver corporate and directorate objectives.

What will you be doing?

To deliver Highways and Transportation commissions and major street lighting projects across Cambridgeshire, which will contribute effectively to the quality of life for the people of Cambridgeshire.

The Project Engineer Street Lighting will support the Strategic Project Manager to monitor our service providers performance and delivery on a number of different types of street lighting infrastructure projects involving both installation and maintenance provision. This will include contract management and project management and carrying out site inspections and site meetings as required.

The role also covers providing technical support to other team members and stakeholders and to assist as required with the management of the maintenance of streetlights and illuminated assets across Cambridgeshire and ensure contract compliance for both our projects and our street lighting contract. This role will also include managing design reviews and design approvals for street lighting designs for highway infrastructure projects and new housing developments.

The role is vital in ensuring effective and efficient delivery of schemes across a wide range of street lighting projects.

About you

You will have experience in the development, planning, design, and implementation of transport infrastructure projects including Street lighting installations and street lighting service delivery provision and be keen to support positive project outcomes through effective project management. You will also be motivated to ensure our projects and highways services including the street lighting service are delivered to a very high standard.
