About the role
The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) have an exciting permanent, full time vacancy for an Adult MASH Adult Support Coordinator.
The role is funded up to 31/03/2025 when a review to sustain funding will be completed. However if funding is withdrawn the successful candidate will continue to be employed in a permanent ASC position within the council.
MASH provides a safeguarding triage function and is committed to making safeguarding personal. This involves engaging with the adult at risk, or their advocate, to agree a way forward which follows the six key principles of s42 enquires under the Care Act.
MASH works closely with its partner agencies, in the spirit of the Care Act, to share information with the aim of providing the highest quality of response to adults at risk.
The team is co-located, with the police, at The Hex, Police Headquarters and therefore this post will be subject to the outcome of a Police vetting check.

What will you be doing?
As an Adult Support Coordinator in the team, you will be undertaking a triage function for all safeguarding referrals using a risk-based approach in line with relevant procedures, as well as working within low risk duty list. You will support the delivery of a high quality and effective MASH service across Cambridgeshire to respond to the needs of service users and their families in a timely manner within statutory guidelines and service specifications.
You will need to provide a response, which is preventative, by signposting to relevant organisations or conduct (or instruct others to conduct) enquiries under section 42 of the Care Act.
About you
The person we are looking for will:
- Have a willingness to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Care Act and other relevant legislation and be able to apply these in practice.
- Have good communication and recording skills and the ability to support people who are experiencing complex circumstances and needs.
- Have the experience, knowledge and skills to identify situations where a complex social work intervention may be needed and refer to or seek advice in a timely way from Adult Safeguard Leads or your Team Manager.
- Work collaboratively and proactively with council colleagues, partner organisations and community services as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to enhance opportunities and outcomes for people.
- Engage in learning and development and maintain ongoing understanding and experience of complex safeguarding legislation and guidance.
